Letter
Dear Birgit,
When the films arrived Marian took them home for viewing with the family. Her Captain is here for vacation. Then Melly got the films for reproduction and so with the others. Almost all of these ladies you've known already have their own copies.
Only yesterday morning, Anna Lee and I saw the films at home relaxed. Wow! You could have been a great producer of international movies.
Thanks a lot for your effort, time and perseverance in taking pictures and arranging them in sequence. You've made a wonderful job making seafarers' wives smile with grateful hearts.
Our last meeting (on March 28) at Marian's residence was full of entertainment and sharing. The ladies are indeed very grateful of your impressive "movie" and to your fellow wives in Denmark who are extending their appreciation to us of our memorable camaraderie in the Philippines. SWAPI will have the traditional Summer Function when members and their families join to celebrate Family Day. Now it will be at Guimaras Island and Boracay Beach from April 7 to 15. Wish you were here to join SWAPI.
The story of Michelle is interesting. The other ladies will read it later after the summer function.

Dear Birgit,
You are privileged to put my mails or letter on the webpage provided it will do good to the seafarers and their families.
Anyway, our vision and mission are similar if not the same except on certain cultural heritage that have some bearing on family practices and specific values.
By the way, our meeting is moved to March 28 to coincide with the 30th Wedding Anniversary of Capt. Perfecto and Marian de Guia and the blessing of the upper deck of their newly improved house.
Remember that evening when you met the brothers of Marian who are all seafarers - captains and chief engineers. We had our dinner and ballroom dancing in this upper deck.
I have read the research of Michelle Thomas in passing. I will review reading as I finish my book "The Healing Spring of Life." The study of Michelle is a good reference of our students in the Maritime schools. I will write you later of my good impressions.

Dear Birgit,
Thank you for all the kindness, feelings of gratitude, and concerns of seafarers and their families. I had a paper presented in 1986 at the ICMA Convention in Baguio City, Philippines which was circulated to all chaplains and ICMA members on the position of Filipino seafarers. This paper was considered by the chaplains as eye opener of those who have been in the service of the seafaring industry. It was a long time but there are still records how SWAPI touched the hearts of those who have ignored the role of the families at home in the shaping and stability of Filipino seafarers on board the ships and at ports. Well, there had been occassion in our country where I stood up for the rights of seafarers and their families at sea and at home. We are to a certain extent recognized at present.
